Two people were wounded in a stabbing attack on Thursday at the entrance to the Shomron Regional Brigade headquarter in the West Bank.

The incident unfolded when a man armed with a knife attacked an Israeli army reservist, 32, and fled the scene. Soldiers opened fire at the assailant and a bystander, a 26-year-old woman, was caught in the crossfire, sustaining light injuries to the leg. Both victims were evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikvah.

The Israeli army is pursuing the assailant, who ran toward Huwara, a Palestinian village near Nablus. Local residents told Haaretz that the IDF set up dozens of roadblocks around the city and soldiers were inspecting people. The roadblocks caused large traffic jams throughout the city, they said.

Last Sunday, a Palestinian man killed two Israelis at a factory in the Barkan Industrial Zone in the West Bank. The two victims, Ziv Hajbi, 35, and Kim Yehezkel-Levengrond, 29, were layed to rest on Monday and Sunday.

A manhunt remains underway for the assailant, Ashraf Walid Saliman Neloah, 23, who gave a coworker a note in which he said he planned to commit suicide and praised late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat prior to the shooting. The note led security forces to conclude that the shooting was a terror attack.
