Pan-African Film Series: The Spook Who Sat By the Door

Diffusée en direct le 9 juil. 2022

All-African People’s Revolutionary Party Southwest

The Spook Who Sat by the Door is a critical reflection upon the racism, violence, and exploitation experienced by poor and working Africans living under capitalism and colonialism told using the fictional story of Dan Freeman, the first Black CIA officer. The film - part satire and part tense spy thriller - brilliantly sends up the CIA’s history (and present) of training people and organizations to overthrow governments while making sharp commentary on class, empire, and the many pitfalls of our people seeking a ‘seat at the table.’
