Peter Tatchell is safe in Australia: Zoom call with Peter Tatchell after his arrest in Qatar for staging first LGBT+ protest

It’s been a challenging, nerve wracking two days, but Peter Tatchell is now safe in Australia after being arrested by the Qatar security services.
His crime was staging the first LGBT+ protest in Qatar or any Gulf state, ahead of the upcoming football World Cup.
Peter held a placard supporting Qatari LGBT+ people who live under one of the most repressive regimes in the world. The placard read: “Qatar arrests, jails & subjects LGBTs to ‘conversion’ #QatarAntiGay.”
His protest also highlighted the abuse of Qatari women and migrant workers.
