It determined how the Constitution of India would apply to J&K and also specifically provided for the procedure for the abrogation of Article 370 itself.. The President can pass an order under Article 370 (3), removing article 370 only if the Constituent Assembly of Jammu & Kashmir recommended the same.

One of them is the Rohingya refugee crisis, which had received much international attention two years ago when it became a major crisis. The other one is the potential refugee crisis in Assam, where a large number of local residents are being dropped from the National Register of Citizens, and local politicians are talking about sending back these ‘illegal Bangladeshis’.

In a statement titled “Standing up for those who stood with us,” the signatories, which included names like Theatre maker, Anuradha Kapur, advocate Karuna Nundy, and filmmaker Anand Patwardhan among others, called upon the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the home ministry to “desist from the unjustified and vindictive use of criminal law” against its founders Indira Jaising and Anand Grover. Citizens for Justice and Peace condems repression and invite signatures.
