Soudan : Les Janjawids au pouvoir
25 juin 2019, par siawi3Dans les années 2000 au début de la guerre au Darfour, lorsque les forces de l’Armée Populaire du Soudan (SLA) ont progressé dans plusieurs villes comme la ville d’Al-Fashir, le gouvernement d’Omar Al-Bachir a appelé les tribus arabes à défendre et arrêter la progression des forces rebelles. Il a donc armé des groupes d’hommes de ces tribus pour contrôler la région et lutter contre les forces rebelles. Les Janjawids tuent, volent et pillent depuis 2003. Les Janjawids ont utilisé le viol comme arme de guerre, en violant systématiquement les femmes lors des attaques des villages. Ils brûlaient toutes les maisons et les fermes, tuaient les hommes et les enfants. Les Janjawids, déguisés sous le nom RSF et reconnus comme force paramilitaire, ont aussi tiré profit de la guerre au Yémen. Les Janjawids, déguisés sous le nom de Forces de Soutien Rapide, contrôlent désormais le pays, et sont une force puissante, incontrôlable et sanguinaire. Les Janjawids sont habitués depuis vingt ans à faire usage de la force brutale et de la violence aveugle pour massacrer le peuple. Cette milice est financée par les pays du Golfe et par l’Union Européenne et fait planer le danger d’une guerre civile immédiate au Soudan.

Until PTSD is taken with the seriousness it warrants, damaged soldiers, their families and society will continue to pay the price.

Palestine: Notre Dame of Gaza: Our Mosques and Churches are Also Burning

The ancient mosque dates back to the 7th century and has since served as a symbol of resilience and faith for the people of Gaza. As Notre Dame burned, I thought of Al-Omari too. While the fire at the French cathedral was likely accidental, destroyed Palestinian houses of worship were intentionally targeted. The Israeli culprits are yet to be held accountable.
