C’est le cas à l’heure actuelle dans leur croisade contre les régimes nationalistes du Proche et du Moyen-Orient qui refusent de livrer leurs richesses aux capitalistes occidentaux. Comme c’était déjà le cas à l’époque de Nasser.

  I support peace but at what cost? How can women, who have earned some freedom in the past seventeen years, accept this peace agreement between the United States and the Taliban? Do you know that the little freedom we have as a people has cost us the blood of thousands of people who believed in civil values? If we want a permanent peace, then we must understand the implications of this agreement. Afghan citizens, including women and young people, are not present in these talks, but we have the most to lose if they are not inclusive.

  After the Egyptian military coup, a number of reports surfaced on Turkey’s indignation on the turn over the events there. Yeni Shafak the newspaper close to the Turkish prime minister published a scathing article against the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, UAE as well as Palestinian Mahmud Abbas calling them the “the axis of evil” in the Middle East. With the fall of Brotherhoods from power in Egypt and the end of US’s short lived flirtation with Qatar, Turkey finds itself in a pickle and isolated from key regional allies.

The Western media have portrayed Ennahda as an innocuous voice of moderation, but it has been pushing for a constitution — one Mr. Brahmi, the left-wing politician who was assassinated outside his home in Tunis last Thursday, vocally opposed — that would lay the foundations for a repressive Islamic state.
