Western imperialists, now posing as saviours in the Boko Haram crisis in Nigeria, are using the opportunity to consolidate their meddling in the country’s public life. The West’s military intervention cannot defeat terrorism. The working people in Nigeria must build mass movements across borders to defeat both terrorism and globalised capitalism that is at the root of terrorism. The current wave of solidarity protests across continents shows that it is possible to build a trans-continental movement against capitalism.

Africa: Imperialists host conference on Nigerian security in Paris
25 May 2014, by siawi3The security of young girls and women cannot be achieved by forming closer ties with the imperialist states but only through the organization and mobilization of the Nigerian masses. If the government of Nigeria cannot provide the necessary security for the youth of the country then it will be up to the majority working class and farmers to self-organize to put an end to imperialism and their collaborators inside the country.

11 February 2016, by siawi3Two Dharamshala-based filmmakers have accused China of “bullying” Dhaka Art Summit organisers to clamp down on their Tibetan exhibit at the prestigious event. “This is bullying. The Chinese are asking for the works to be removed in a foreign country."

Syria: The ‘Doctrine of Humanitarian Intervention’: and how it exposes the absence of any serious intention to help Syrians
25 April 2018, by siawi3Diplomacy should focus on the humanitarian situation and the need for civilian protection rather than or as well as finding a political solution. The symbolic character of the air strikes suggest that there was never any serious intention to help Syrians. It was a frivolous action aimed at assuring public opinion that western leaders are strong. But this kind of frivolous action further undermines the prohibition on the use of force enshrined in the UN Charter.

How Israel moved from a secular state - and an “outpost of culture against barbarism” - to a ’Jewish’ one
9 February 2018, by siawi3Israel was founded by very secular idealists. Most of them looked upon religion as a relic of the past, a handful of ridiculous superstitions that must be discarded in order to clear the way for a healthy, modern nationalism. When the State of Israel was founded, the term “Israeli” replaced the term “Hebrew”. The question is now: “Jewish” first or “Israeli” first? It has a direct bearing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Is Turkey Recruiting ex-ISIS Fighters?
14 February 2018, by siawi3Turkey is recruiting and retraining Isis fighters to lead its invasion of the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northern Syria. “Turkey at the beginning of its operation tried to delude people by saying that it is fighting Isis, but actually they are training Isis members and sending them to Afrin.” An estimated 6,000 Turkish troops and 10,000 Free Syrian Army (FSA) militia crossed into Syria on 20 January, pledging to drive the YPG out of Afrin.

The Trials of Africa and the Real Dr. King They Want Us to Forget
28 January 2018, by siawi3The legacy of Dr. King, as presented in mainstream media, has become about the whitewashing of a racist, militaristic and materialistic system, although King himself has championed the exact opposite.
