Julian Assange’s removal from the Ecuadorian Embassy was done so “on direct orders from the [US] president”, according to information provided to American journalist Cassandra Fairbanks. Ms Fairbanks’ explosive testimony would appear to support to position that Mr Assange’s prosecution has a political dimension and reflected a shift in the government’s attitude with a change in administration from that of former president Barack Obama. “Kidnapping a political refugee” from the Ecuadorian Embassy would be “an act of war”, Ms Fairbanks said to Mr Schwartz, to which he apparently responded “not if they let us”. “I began recording all conversations with Mr Schwartz because of the threatening tone of the October 2018 call and the amount of details he had provided about Mr Assange’s impending arrest”.

USA: The Cost Of Resistance
28 September 2020, by siawi3Resistance, genuine resistance, exacts a very, very high price. Those in power drop even the pretense of justice when they face an existential threat. You can measure the effectiveness of resistance by the fury of the response by ruling elites. The ominous message the U.S. government is sending is clear: No matter who or where you are, if you expose the inner workings of empire you will be hunted down, kidnapped and brought to the U.S. to be tried as a spy and imprisoned for life. The empire intends to be unaccountable, untouchable and unexamined.

The regional dimensions of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
16 October 2020, by siawi3Except for Turkey, no other regional or global power has declared its direct involvement in the conflict. However, it has all the ingredients of turning into a major conflict unless negotiations take place. Another war in the region, apart from causing further destruction of lives of people, can also provide the US and Israel fresh opportunities to dominate the area. Russia, Turkey and Iran have seen how Israel and the US have used the war in Syria for their own advantages. This should be an incentive for all regional players to move from confrontation to cooperation for which they already have a working model.
