”Honour”, violence – and leaving Islam
18 May 2019, by siawi3Do ex-Muslims have to die to experience compassion? Ex-Muslims are being hunted and killed in some countries, exported abroad to be murdered by some communities, or being bullied into suicide by other families. There is no outrage. No consideration, no care and no compassion. We are expected to live silently and die silently. There are good victims and bad victims.

India: Activists stand up against mob lynching
24 July 2019, by siawi3The event was called National Convention against State Complicity in Hate Crimes. This was Sunday. On Tuesday, the state proved its complicity in hate crimes by sending the police to Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) Maharashtra State Secretary, Preethy Shekhar’s house to arrest her. Victims of communal, caste and gender violence and kin came together in Mumbai to question and deliberate upon the recent spate of hate crimes in the country. The family members shared their experiences and described their struggles to get justice. The resolution highlighted, “The most disturbing aspect of these developments is the complicity of state machinery. Officials in civil administration and police forces are coerced to side with the perpetrators. Upright officers who refuse to surrender are silenced in so many ways."
