  It takes work to eradicate racism – and that work starts by accepting the truth, not propagating simplistic fantasies. If we allow people to misrepresent the past by erasing the racist politics that have caused pain, economic degradation and treated people as “other” because of their skin colour, religion, immigration status or “culture”, then we won’t see racism – including anti-immigration racism – as structurally embedded and systemic.

  Dramatic footage of a white-bearded Julian Assange being carried out of the Ecuadorian embassy in London by British police officers. Scotland Yard has confirmed that Assange was arrested on behalf of the US after receiving a request for his extradition.

Data suggests that euroscepticism in Britain’s South Asian population – particularly the UK’s Indian ethnic group – is stronger than previously thought.

• UK: WikiLeaks Source Says They’re Coming For Assange

  The WikiLeaks Twitter account has announced that it has high level information that the organization’s founder Julian Assange could have his political asylum the Ecuadorian embassy revoked for him to be arrested by the British government within hours. We need to be ready to shake the earth should this happen. We need all hands on deck for this one. The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture released a press release saying:“In my assessment, if Mr. Assange were to be expelled from the Embassy of Ecuador, he is likely to be arrested by British authorities and extradited to the United States,” said the UN expert. “Such a response could expose him to a real risk of serious violations of his human rights, including his freedom of expression, his right to a fair trial and the prohibition of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.”

  Deux cent trente-cinq délégations venues de toute la France se réunissent tout le week-end à Saint-Nazaire pour débattre des modes d’actions et de l’avenir du mouvement. Et ils ont dû refuser une trentaine de délégations faute de place. Signe de l’élan suscité par l’initiative de Commercy, il y a deux mois... Ce sont les tenants de cette ligne et de cette volonté de structurer le mouvement de la façon la plus horizontale possible, qu’on retrouve à Saint-Nazaire. Ni abattus ni défaitistes, certains de réussir à « renforcer le mouvement » notamment en s’organisant.

  Il y a quarante ans, le 4 mai 1978, Henri Curiel était assassiné à Paris. Le général Aussaresses admettra ne pas être étranger à l’assassinat d’Henri. Les services français, quels qu’ils soient, auront certainement fêté le meurtre « d’Henri Curiel, traitre à la France qui l’avait accueilli », selon les termes du commando Delta, qui revendiqua le crime.
