  Gender segregation again raised its ugly head at a packed Islamic conference in Western Sydney. Following a recent NSW tribunal ruling that separate seating could be unlawful, men and women were directed to sit apart at the United Muslims of Australia event at Olympic Park. Steel barriers were used to split the auditorium seating, with women directed to the left and men to the right.

  Senior law enforcement officials have named the 18-year-old man who was shot dead after stabbing two officers from the Joint Counter Terrorism team outside a Melbourne police station last night. The young man apparenty publicly deployed an IS flag, and the police was sent to discuss this with him and his family.
