  Qui peut arrêter Donald Trump et son « muslim ban » ? Un homme a, ces derniers jours, incarné l’opiniâtreté des contre-pouvoirs américains : le juge fédéral républicain de l’Etat de Washington, James Robart. Ce magistrat en préretraite a émis vendredi soir une injonction temporaire valable sur l’ensemble du territoire américain, le temps qu’une plainte déposée lundi par le ministre de la Justice du même Etat soit examinée sur le fonds. En conséquence, dès samedi, les restrictions imposées par le décret ont été, au moins temporairement, annulées. Rouvrant ainsi les portes des Etats-Unis aux ressortissants de sept pays musulmans touchés par le texte (Iran, Irak, Soudan, Yémen, Libye, Syrie, Somalie).

Less than fifteen years ago NGOs were able to observe the negotiations and approach delegations on the floors of the UN conference rooms. In recent years our collaboration has been subjected to increasing restrictions, limiting our capacity to work with Member States to deliver strong Agreed Conclusions that make a real difference to the policy and legal settings that are used to realise women’s human rights.
