  Les affrontements ont repris lundi pour la quatrième journée consécutive en Turquie entre policiers et manifestants hostiles au Premier ministre Recep Tayyip Erdogan, qui a nié toute dérive autoritaire et rejeté l’éventualité d’un « printemps turc ». Le Premier Ministre a répété qu’il mènerait le projet d’aménagement urbain contesté de la place Taksim jusqu’à son terme. Et, comme un défi aux manifestants, ajouté dimanche qu’il y construirait une mosquée.

  La jeune Femen tunisienne est allée jusqu’au bout du défi en se rendant à Kairouan dimanche 19 mai, au plus fort des tensions entre les salafistes d’Ansar al Charia et la police, chargée de leur interdire la ville. Elle a tagué le sigle des Femen sur un muret du cimetière de la mosquée. Son arrestation lui a évité le lynchage par les manifestants mais elle est placée sous mandat de dépot par le tribunal de première instance de Kairouan et inculpée.
  Cet acte entièrement solitaire et impopulaire sera pourtant perçu un jour comme celui d’un courage précurseur.

  Contrary to what this article in English says, all articles in French are clear that Amina was kidnapped by her family assisted by police, that she is kept by her family, without access to telephone or internet and heavily sedated. Her family thinks what she did is the proof that she is mentally ill. A French journalist managed to briefly meet her, in the presence of her mother. Tunisian feminists of another generation seem to share these views, including her lawyer.

  Comme Aliaa avant elle, l’acte d’Amina a montré la voie. Les femmes savent, désormais, combien leur corps est l’objet d’une guerre et donc une arme pour résister.
  Que font les défenseurs des droits de l’homme et des femmes en Tunisie ? Vont-ils se lever contre la séquestration d’une majeure avec l’aide de la police ? Ils le disent, mais à voix basse.

  Hormis deux personnalités tunisiennes, Nadia El Fani et Raja Ben Slama, peu donnent publiquement de la voix pour exiger des explications.
  Le forum social mondial vient de s’ouvrir à Tunis. On espère un cri, un sursaut. Mais rien ne se passe. Des ateliers sont trop occupés à applaudir Tariq Ramadan ou les islamistes-capitalistes au pouvoir. D’autres ont mieux à faire. Après tout, qu’est-ce que la liberté d’expression et les droits des femmes.

  A new Egyptian opposition group has risen to the forefront, as the country marks the second anniversary of the ousting of former President Hosni Mubarak. The ‘Black Bloc’ is threatening Islamist authorities and sparking fears of a street war. The Black Bloc has taken responsibility for a number of acts of civil disobedience, such as stopping public transport and setting fire to some Muslim Brotherhood buildings. Many worry that the group could spark Islamist retaliation. Some Islamists have threated to attack the so-called “enemies of Islam,” Al Arabiya reported. The tension may create a spiral of violence between “rival militias.” And it now appears that a potential Black Bloc rival could emerge from the Muslim Brotherhood government itself. “The first reaction from the Muslim Brotherhood is that they’d create the ‘White Bloc’ in order to respond to pressure from the Black Bloc.

  “We want bread, freedom and social justice” . “We want the constitutional court to replace (Morsi’s) regime. We want (a secular) civilian regime, one that understands the needs of the people and addresses their problems.”
  The Black Bloc was formed primarily to confront Muslim Brotherhood supporters who attacked December’s protests against the draft constitution. In some of its first public actions, the Black Bloc torched offices of the Muslim Brotherhood and the affiliated Freedom and Justice party while clashing with Islamist supporters.
